Lycoming College is hiring a Retention and Data Specialist to join our Academic Services team.

This position is responsible for supporting the day-to-day services and programs within the managerial portfolio of the Center for Enhanced Academic Experiences and Deans for Student Success & Retention. This position represents Academic Services to internal and external constituents and supports the services and programs provided by the office with a high level of professionalism, attention to detail, and confidentiality.
This is a full-time position that is benefits eligible.

What will I do in this role? Data Management
- Develop expertise within the Advise and Informer software programs to be able to support student data reports on both an ad hoc basis and long-term reporting processes
- Coordinate with the Deans for Student Success and Retention the retention communication tempo via Advise (or email/text messaging as needed), including items such as student birthday message, clearing of holds on accounts for preregistration, kudos communications, and early assessment communications
- Maintain database information and reports.
- Monitor the data entry for completion of orientation tasks for accurate data pulls
- Administrative assistance for the Referral Management Team
Support for the Office of Student Success and Retention
- Monitor Academic Services web site, SharePoint site, and other media venues to help maintain up-to-date materials
- Assist the New Student Orientation Team with the planning and organization of campus-wide events, including Warrior Day, 1st Weekend, and January Orientation
- Administrative/event management support for New Student Convocation
- Support new student on-boarding processes
- Process newly confirmed students and direct weekly outreach/support to confirm students with respect to summer orientation tasks and programming
Support of Center for Enhanced Academic Experiences (CEAE)
- Handle Career Services management software weekly
- Track faculty-student research
- Assist with the marketing, development, scheduling, and implementation of CEAE events.
- Gather information from students for their applications for faculty-led travel courses
- Provide recruiting assistance to employers/graduate schools and coordinate employer/graduate school recruiting visits
General
- Serve as a communication hub for student inquiries to the Office of Student Success and Retention and the Center for Enhanced Academic Experiences
- Handle sensitive and confidential records, reports, and correspondence
- Plan and coordinate meetings involving various on- and off-campus constituents
- Supervise student workers with respect to distributing and monitoring tasks.
- Maintain office records, create monthly budget report, and track spending.
- Manage office needs/supplies and expenditures
- Assist in documenting and monitoring the academic calendar year tempo to office operations
What are we looking for? Education Required: associates degree required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree and 2 years’ relevant experience.
- Ability to navigate a case management system and create data pulls based on a multifaceted set of criteria and/or demonstrated willingness to learn new software programs.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Forms, and Teams).
- Demonstrates professionalism and an ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Proven ability to work well with diverse groups.
- Strong attention to detail and high degree of accuracy on concurrent complex tasks.
- Writing and proofreading skills sufficient to prepare a wide variety of documents with correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to use tact, discretion and courtesy in contacts with all persons who have contact with the College.
- Ability to think critically and exercise mature judgement.
- Ability to work independently, determine priorities, and handle a high volume of assignments effectively.
